A month since summer solstice, the days are growing that tiny bit shorter but summer is still hanging with us. Nice one sun. It’s not so sweet this morning but come back for the weekend, yeah?

Happy Friday friends.

If you’re just a lovely friend who’s looking at this post you might not be into listening to photography podcasts. And that’s cool. I’m ok with that. But if you consider yourself to be creative at all, this podcast is well worth a listen to. And this episode in particular.

The guys talk openly about feeling lost and directionless, uselessness and not being good enough. We’ve all been there, and we’ll be there again. There’s no self-indulgence here, it’s all just how it is. On Taking Pictures #115 (1 hr 47mins)

I’m a big fan of orchestral music while I’m working. And I just came across this Tiny Desk Concert by Kronos Quartet recently. Sound and vision. Sweet. (19 min 27 sec)

This is another photography podcast and it’s pretty much all business. Gary Lashmar is a London-based wedding photographer who had me emailing him within 20mins of the start of this interview. The guy’s enthusiasm and no bullshit attitude was incredibly refreshing, and his photos are beautiful too. Photo Biz X with Gary Lashmar/Marshal Gray (50mins)

I went with a bunch of pals on Saturday night to see The Souljazz Orchestra and we all danced our asses off to some epic soul/jazz/funk/afrobeat. I’m all about the dancing this summer. Happy. Dance! This last one is another podcast and it’s a hell of a lot lighter than the other two. Pop My Culture is a podcast on all things pop culture, based in LA and gives me some good laughs, lovely for a Friday. This episode goes into Robin Thicke’s new single/video (I did watch it and it’s as appalling as Vanessa says…), they talk about Gary Oldman’s ridiculous Playboy interview, there’s a Live singoff (I too was a fan back in the day) and eye hairs…and hole hairs…yeah…Check it out. (85mins)
