Niamh & Emmet’s Barberstown Castle Wedding

Niamh and Emmet are just one of those couples – as soon as we met, we knew it was going to be great. They are people people.
Barberstown Castle couldn’t have been more perfect – historical, romantic, classy and a really intimate feeling space.
Their humanist ceremony was light filled, hop-scented and very emotional. Tears, a ring-warming, a hand-fasting ceremony, beautiful words and a lot of very excited family and friends.
Something I noticed about Niamh and Emmet very early on was that they are a total team, they’re just really great pals and you can see it in the way they talk and act around each other.
Niamh is an amazing cake maker and made their wedding cakes, but my favourite bit about their gorgeous cake is that they both made it – Emmet painted on the incredible birds before Niamh made the finishing touches.
Teamwork… Sigh.
Just before I packed away the cameras, we left the hopping dancefloor for a few minutes and headed out to the back garden of the castle to make some long portraits in the cool grass – under a new sky.
Niamh, Emmet, it was my incredible priviledge to photograph your wedding and I wish you both the most wonderful first anniversary and a lifetime more together.
Additional photography by Audrey Dalton and Michael Weissbecker – thank you both for your awesome relay work!
